Stoiximan is now the title sponsor of the Greek Super League in a record-breaking three-year deal from 2022-23 to 2024-25.
According to SportBusiness, the agreement with the Greek online betting company is worth €9.5m ($10.1m) over the term, or €3.16m per season, and is the largest sponsorship deal ever made by a private company with Greece's top football league.
As well as naming rights, the league will be called the Stoiximan Super League Championship and the bookmaker will receive stadium branding and participate in social initiatives as well as match-day activations in and around stadiums.
“We welcome to the Super League football family Stoiximan, a strategic partner on many levels, as the institutional cooperation between Stoiximan and Super League includes signage at the stadiums, significant TV and online exposure, as well as an action plan which aims at making the best use of the enormous potential of the most popular sport in our country,” said Super League Deputy President of the Board of Directors Katia Koxenoglou.
For his part, Stoiximan Vice President Panos Konstantopoulos said: “2023 is a pivotal year for Stoiximan, marking the completion of our first decade of life and our entry into a new period of growth.
“Our scope of cooperation goes beyond a typical sponsorship cooperation and extends to the expansion of the social footprint of Greek football, which is always the basis of our cooperation.
“We want to be a positive factor for the further development of football and as such we perceive our role as sponsors and name givers of the Greek football championship.”
Stoiximan is not the first betting sponsor to have naming rights to the Super League. In 2020 Interwetten signed a three-year naming rights deal.
