Miltiadis grabs the win in the men's long jump competition

Miltiadis Tentoglou from Greece grabs the win in the men's long jump after a nail-biting end to the competition in the world indoor tour in Madrid.

Miltos Tentoglou will go to Constantinople with another win under his belt.

George Pomaski's athlete also won first place at the Madrid indoor meet and is now focused on the European Championships.

With a jump of 8.15m. the "gold" Olympic champion won in the... points to Cuban Maikel Maso, who also had 8.15m. (2nd, worst second attempt by Tentoglou), and Swede Tobias Mondler (3rd with 8.14m).

Tentoglou entered the race at 7.86, passed 8.07m. on his second attempt and triumphed with 8.15m. of his third jump, which earned him first place.

The Greek champion also had two invalids while also leaving one attempt. In women, Nicole Kyriakopoulou took fourth place in the pole vault with 4.30m. The winner was Canadian Alyssa Newman with 4.65m, while China's Huikin Xu was second with 4.55m. In third was Italy's Elisa Molinaro, with 4.45m.
