Masterpieces of the Archaeological Museum of Elefsina are being re-exhibited!

Archaeological Museum of Elefsina

The Archaeological Museum of Elefsina, which was inaugurated on February 24 by President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Minister of Culture and Sports Lina Mendoni, is re-exhibiting many masterpieces in its possesses.

The Museum exhibits, mainly, findings from the Sanctuary area and burial material from the so-called Western Cemetery, the main necropolis of Elefsis, as well as from the southern necropolis.

The findings date from Prehistoric to late Roman times.

As Mendoni said, among other things, in her greeting, "implementing the relevant commitment of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture and Sports proceeded to acquire the building complex of the Old Olive Oil Mill, in order to house the New Archaeological Museum of Elefsina there, worthy of the cultural stock of the region, as well as hosting actions of contemporary artistic expression and creation, including many of those of the Cultural Capital."
