Hundreds of people in Piraeus, of all ages, flooded Freatida Beach on Clean Monday, and there Olympiacos also contributed to the festivities by offering food.
More than 2,500 Lenten dishes were offered to Piraeus by Greek sporting giant Olympiacos, Proto Thema reported.
The event was opened by the Philharmonic Brass Band of the Municipality of Piraeus, which played carnival tunes. The Municipality of Piraeus also donated 1,200 kites to children.
The Mayor of Piraeus, Ioannis Moralis, went to Freattidas beach with his family and exchanged well wishes with the people.
