Greektown Chicago is preparing to celebrate Greek Independence Day throughout March.
It starts with Greektown Restaurant Week, from March 1 to March 7.
"When you come to Greektown, we really treat you like family," said Irene Koumi, a Greektown spokesperson.
"That's what you're always going to see when you come to Greektown. You're going to see the owner of the restaurant, they're going to remember your face, and they're going to welcome you in like family."
The Greek Heritage Parade is Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m.
Greektown Restaurant Week 2023 is Around the Corner
After a successful launch in 2021, Greektown Chicago is bringing back Greektown Restaurant Week from March 1-7, 2023, featuring exclusive discounts, dishes and special offers from restaurants throughout the neighbourhood—including legacy Greek restaurants in Greektown for decades!

Participating Restaurant Week businesses March 1-7 include legacy Greek restaurants Artopolis Bakery and Café (Artopita Happy Hour 11 am – 3 pm, March 1-7, Enjoy any savory pastry for $6 each), Athena Restaurant (free saganaki per table with any entrée order), Greek Islands Restaurant (free appetizer order of tarama with pita (one per table) when you mention Greektown Restaurant Week, plus 50% off bottles of wine and beer), Mr. Greek Gyros (buy a Gyros Plate and get a slice of baklava free, valid 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily), 9 Muses (Greek Rose $9 a glass / $20 a bottle, Greek pilsner stem beer $5, and food specials include Chicken Lemonato, Μακαρόνια με Κιμά – Greek Bolognese – and Lamb Shank), Spectrum Bar & Grill (a glass of Greek wine for $1 with the purchase of any entrée – and a special signature Ouzo Blue cocktail will be featured during the entire month of March in celebration of Greek Independence Day), Dugan’s (half-price Guinness beer on March 1), and Taco Burrito King ($5.99 special on Mexican tortas, dine-in and carryout).
