According to cretapost.gr, after observing a minute of silence in memory of the dead, on Thursday morning the students and teachers of the high school proceeded to make and hang a banner in the courtyard.
On a black background they wrote: "Pick me up when you arrive, yes?" and "Let's go wherever it comes out."
The teachers then wrote a heartfelt passage entitled "The train leaves at 8, Journey to Haro".
The passage reads:
Το τρένο φεύγει στις 8…..ταξίδι για τον Χάρο
Στη συνέχεια οι καθηγητές έγραψαν ένα κείμενο με τίτλο «Το τρένο φεύγει στις 8, ταξίδι για το Χάρο».
Αναλυτικά το κείμενο:
Όταν περνάς τα Τέμπη, βλέπεις την όμορφη φύση, τα δώρα του Θεού στον άνθρωπο και ηρεμεί η ψυχή σου, γαληνεύεις.
Όταν περνάς τα Τέμπη, απολαμβάνεις την κοιλάδα ,τα νερά, το πράσινο, ξέρεις τι σε συντροφεύει διασχίζοντάς τα
Όταν περνάς τα Τέμπη, ανασαίνεις τη δροσιά, χαμογελάς.
Όταν περνάς τα Τέμπη, σκέφτεσαι ότι μάλλον ανάμεσα στις ράγες έχουν φυτρώσει μικρά μικρά πεισματάρικα λουλουδάκια. Αλλά εσύ προχωράς γιατί το τρένο προχωρά γρήγορα , για να σε φτάσει εκεί που θες.
Γιατί έτσι κάνουν τα τρένα.
Όταν περνάς τα Τέμπη, το τρένο το πολύ πολύ να σφυρίξει για να χαιρετήσει.
Γιατί πρέπει να συνεχίσει, να πάει κάπου, να σε πάει εκεί που θες, στον προορισμό σου, εκεί που σε περιμένουν. Γιατί δε σκέφτηκες ούτε μια στιγμή να πεις «πάμε κι όπου βγει». Κάποιος όμως το είπε αυτό για σένα. Την ώρα που δεν έπρεπε, δεν ταίριαζε, δεν σου ταίριαζε.
Και το τρένο δεν σε άφησε να βγεις. Και τα λουλουδάκια ανάμεσα στις ράγες πείσμωσαν περισσότερο.
Γιατί έτσι δεν πρέπει να κάνουν τα τρένα.
"When you pass Tempi, you see the beautiful nature, God's gifts to man and your soul calms down, you feel at peace. When you pass Tempi, you enjoy the valley, the waters, the greenery, you know what accompanies you crossing them. When you pass Tempi, you breathe in the coolness, you smile.
When you pass Tempi, you think that probably little stubborn flowers have grown between the rails. But you move forward because the train moves fast, to get you where you want. Because that's what trains do. When you pass Tempi, the train at most whistles to greet you.
Why should it continue, go somewhere, take you where you want, to your destination, where they are waiting for you. Why didn't you think for a moment to say "let's go wherever it comes out". But someone said that about you. When you shouldn't, it didn't fit, it didn't suit you.
And the train wouldn't let you out. And the little flowers between the tracks were more stubborn. Because trains shouldn't do that.
The Teachers' Association, the auxiliary staff and the students of the 3rd Lyceum of Heraklion deeply shocked by the recent tragedy in Tempi express their immense sadness for the loss of so many people and their sincere condolences to the relatives of the victims of this unimaginable and tragic event".
In the meantime, there have been similar actions in other schools. Using their school bags, the children of Heraklion High School formed the words "Have you arrived?"
In a Facebook post Professor Zacharias Rigakis, says "20 GEL Heraklion..my children, our children..a ray of light in the darkness..hope and strength..nothing is lost..nothing will be lost …I love you…"

The 11th grade students Heraklion High School gathered in the courtyard of their school and with their bodies formed the phrase "All... expendable" with the 15-member school council lamenting; "How many more souls will we mourn? How many more dreams will burn?"
A march of teachers and students from schools in Crete is expected to take place today to protest the conditions that led to the tragic accident.
