Church in Patras charges parishioners for using the toilet

A turnstile, which is only activated when someone drops a 50-cent euro coin, was placed at the entrance to the toilets of the Church of Saint Andreas in Patras.

The installation was commented negatively, by some, but others stated that... "we have become Europeanised" because such systems exist in Europe.

"It makes sense that there should be a minimum charge for the use of the toilet by the public since the church has a cleaning lady, whilst the toilet is open all the time," the chanter, Spyros Skiadaresis, told Peloponnisos.

However, there were also several who expressed their protest because they are now obliged to pay for the use of the toilet of the church.
