A video has gone viral in Turkey showing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan handing out tips to small children during his pre-election visit to Istanbul's Bağcılar district.
The video, shared on Twitter by Flash Haber TV, shows the Turkish president handing out banknotes to children, with bystanders cheering him on, chanting: "Our leader, we will not leave Turkey to traitors" and other pro-government slogans.
Typical is Erdoğan's reaction when a voter of his tried to receive a presidential tip... with bystanders reacting by telling him: "Stop... Shame. It's for the kids."
It is not the first time that the Turkish president shares something during his contact with his voters. From tea bags to… chess sets.
The video was strongly commented on by opposition parties and newspapers, who said how Erdoğan "last year distributed 100 liras and this year 200 due to inflation."
