Kosta’s Takeaway opens its second shop at Circular Quay

Kosta’s gained a loyal following for its “classic, not basic” sandwiches when it opened beside a smash repair shop in 2021.

In the heart of industrial Rockdale, you'll find a canteen-style window home to Kosta’s Takeaway – an authentic GREEK sandwich deli by a crew of Sydney hospitality veterans.

The blue-and-white-striped canteen is famous for its generous Greek-style sandwiches loaded with premium ingredients and made fresh to order.

On his website, we are greeted by an authentic Greek Australian Message.

BLOODY MALAKA! and mention their Greek philosophy.

If you want to order one of their popular items is the Super Deli panini, consisting of LP's mortadella, ham, sopressa, marinated peppers and eggplant, spinach, graviera cheese, fennel butter, and salsa verde.

They also offer a salad schiacciata loaded with fresh vegetables, including beetroot and salsa verde, as well as a panko-crumbed chicken schnitty on a round olive oil bun with lettuce, cheese, and burger sauce.

Kosta's also has to rotate meat-heavy specials using cuts from Whole Beast Butchery in Marrickville.

Customers can add items from the VIP deli to their sandwiches, such as cold cuts, house-made relishes, pickles, ferments, or even a deep-fried potato scallop. Kosta's menu also features various Greek dishes, including spanakopita and rizogalo, a dessert-style rice pudding.

Today, Kosta’s Takeaway opened its second venue at the new Circular Quay dining precinct, Sydney Place.

He joins Kosta’s joins other eateries opening within the $2.2 billion Sydney Place development, including Joel Best’s Bar Besuto, Lode Pies and the second outpost of Morgan McGlone’s French rotisserie restaurant, Sunday.
