The two artists will present excerpts from operas that established Callas as the most important soprano in the history of world, with the collaboration of the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens, conducted by Nayden Todorov.

The concert takes place as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival and is part of the actions of the Hellenic Association Maria Callas. It has particular significance, due to the official inclusion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Callas in the UNESCO list of commemorations for 2023.

The proceeds of the concert will go towards the completion of the Maria Callas Museum which will open its doors in the summer of 2023, in an emblematic neoclassical building belonging to the Municipality of Athens and located at 44 Mitropoleos Street, in the heart of Athens.

The "Maria Callas Hellenic Association"- was founded in 2012 by a group of scholars specialising in the life and work of the greatest diva of the 20th century, collectors, and even her simple fans.

Among the objectives of the Association are the promotion of the Greekness of Maria Callas, keeping alive the memory of the leading Greek soprano, who is undoubtedly considered the most recognisable opera artist worldwide.

That is in the addition to the operation and enrichment of the Maria Callas Museum in Athens, the creation of conditions for the collaboration of artists for the presentation of musical events dedicated to her memory, and the collection, recording and study of data related to her life and artistic career.
