Akis Skertsos is the new Greek government spokesperson

State Minister Akis Skertsos has been appointed as the new government spokesman, according to an announcement made by the prime minister's office on Friday.

Skertsos is replacing government spokesman Yiannis Economou, who is a candidate in the May 21 elections.

A statement said that Aristotelia Peloni, who has served as alternate government spokeswoman, will assumed the duties of consultant in international affairs and relations with international mass media.
