Fisker Karma: The incredible car with Greek license plates spotted in Athens

Fisker Karma

A super rare Greek licensed plate Fisker Karma was spotted on the streets of Athens. This is one of the most unique plug-in hybrid sports sedans ever built, originating from a time when Tesla's Model S did not even exist.

It was designed by the Henrik Fisker, who was also behind the BMW Z8/ X5 and Aston Martin DB9/ V8 Vantage.

The Fisker Karma production lasted only two years (2011-2012) in Finland, as News Auto highlighted.

Its base was a GM platform and on the front axle there was a two-liter turbo with a power of 260 hp when the rear wheels were driven by two electric motors with a power of 200 horses each and power from a 20.1 kWh battery that gave an autonomy of 50- 80 kilometres.

Essentially, its arrangement is of the range extender type (as in the Chevrolet Volt/ Opel Ampera) with the maximum power reaching 400+ horses, thus offering a top speed of 200 km/h and a 0-100 in less than 6.0 seconds.

After many problems, Fisker Automotive went bankrupt and thanks to Chinese funds it came back to the fore in 2016 as Karma Automotive. CEO Henry Fisker returned with the Revero.

By the time the model was discontinued, more than 2,400 Karmas had been delivered in Europe and North America. The selling price of the Karma at the time was around $100,000.
