After entering the NBA Playoffs as the presumptive title favorite, Milwaukee’s run ended almost as soon as it started as it became just the sixth No. 1 seed in NBA history to be eliminated in the first round, losing to Miami in five games.
Disappointing as the early exit was, Antetokounmpo was quick to push back when asked whether or not he considered it to be a failure.
“It’s not a failure — it’s steps to success,” Antetokounmpo told reporters postgame. “There’s always steps to it. Michael Jordan played 15 years, won six championships. The other nine years was a failure? That’s what you’re telling me?”
"There's no failure in sports."
