Ayia Napa: A man who climbed the lovers' bridge to take a picture is dead

A man, unidentified so far, was pulled dead from a 10-metre-deep cliff in Ayia Napa, Cyprus.

According to Steve Theodoulou, press representative of the Famagusta Police Department, "around 6:30 in the afternoon, the Police received information that there was a body of an unknown man on the rocks where the Lovers' Bridge is located in Agia Napa."

"The Ayia Napa Police Station, the Famagusta Crime Investigation Department, the Fire Service and the ambulance went to the scene and made every effort to retrieve the body."

Theodoulou added that "so far the details of the unknown man have not been clarified."

According to Proto Thema, the unknown person was probably on the bridge and was trying to take pictures, when under circumstances that are being investigated, he seems to have lost his balance and fell to the ground from a height of ten metres.
