Poor Things: The first photos of Emma Stone as "Bella" in the new film by Yorgos Lanthimos

Emma Stone

Photographs from the filming of Yorgos Lanthimos' new film were released a few hours ago from Glasgow, where the film's crew is based, with Emma Stone and her co-stars impressing us with their looks alone.

Almost four years after the Oscar-winning "Favourite", the Greek director collaborates again with Emma Stone. This time Willem Dafoe will play alongside her in a new version of the Frankenstein legend.

In the first production photos that have just been released, a black-haired Stone is seen brooding on a ship, staring intently at something unknown to us, as Willem Dafoe remains motionless on a chair. Mark Ruffalo also stars with them in the film.

According to the script synopsis, Stone plays Bella here, a dead girl who is brought back to life thanks to a mad and genius scientist who takes her under his protection.

Thirsty for knowledge and experiences, she soon escapes from her home, and in the company of a lawyer embarks on a cosmopolitan adventure and turns into an unexpected symbol of female emancipation fighting for equality and freedom.

The premiere of the film is scheduled for September 8 in the US, while its title is "Poor Things".

We remind you that Lanthimos' previous film, "The Favourite" won an Oscar for Olivia Colman's performance, while the movie was nominated for 10 Oscars.
