An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in Ioannina, northwestern Greece while intense seismic activity has been observed in the country in recent hours.
The epicentre of the tremor, which occurred at 6:06 p.m., is located 13 kilometres east-southeast of Leptokarya in Ioannina, according to the revised solution of the Geodynamic Institute.
The focal depth is estimated at 9.6 kilometers. According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter located 19 kilometers west-southwest of Ioannina
