Nigella Lawson raves about Hellenic House Project in Melbourne

Nigella Lawson Hellenic House Project

Nigella Lawson visited George Calombaris's Hellenic House Project last night and raved about the recently opened restaurant.

In a Instagram post she wrote to her 2.9 million followers.

I know I said I was in Melbourne, but in fact I’m in heaven! That’s to say, last night I went to @gcalombaris’s new restaurant, his very, very new restaurant, @thehellenichouseproject, and it made me happier than I can say! I didn’t take enough photographs, for which I can only apologise, but I was far too busy eating! Anyway, here are those chips, the ones I’d fly across the world for –and have: crisp and garlicky and tossed with oregano and feta.
But everything was sensational! I had intended to list everything I ate, but I couldn’t presume upon your patience!
Anyway, I’ll be back here soon, and promise I’ll photograph and itemise everything then. In the meantime, take it from me, you need to eat here and eat everything. It’s sensational! Congratulations to the whole team: it’s nothing short of an absolute triumph 👏 👏👏🏆🏆🏆
PS Don’t leave without having the Greek Yogurt Soft Serve with Sea Salt and Metaxa Syrup

The Hellenic House project is already booked out months in advance.

The queen of home cooking and cosy comfort food is visiting Melbourne to spill her culinary secrets in a tour later this month.

The beloved English food writer, TV cook and author will appear live on stage at Hamer Hall on May 19 as part of an exclusive Australian-speaking tour. Lawson is set to spill the beans (figuratively, not literally in this instance) on her cooking secrets, culinary passions and kitchen rituals.

She will also explore cooking as a personal, intuitive, connecting experience and how one ingredient can generate many ideas and recipes. And her warmth and wisdom will be on full display when she participates in an audience Q&A following the discussion.

The always-entertaining and articulate Lawson is best known for her unpretentious approach to cooking and passion for creating hearty, comforting meals that are accessible to all. Oh, and for her unique pronunciation of microwave (IYKYK). She’s starred in numerous television shows, including Nigella Bites and Nigella Feasts, and published 12 bestselling books.

“Food, for me, is a constant pleasure,” says Lawson. “I like to think greedily about it, reflect deeply on it, learn from it; it provides comfort, inspiration, meaning and beauty… food is the story of my life.”
