Demis Hassabis was born in London in 1976, the son of a Greek Cypriot father and a Singaporean mother. As a child, he showed a remarkable talent for both music and mathematics, and by the age of seven, he was already playing the piano at a professional level.

Despite his natural musical ability, Demis was more interested in science and technology, and he spent much of his childhood tinkering with computers and learning to code. In 2010, he co-founded DeepMind Technologies alongside Shane Legg and Mustafa Suleyman, with the goal of creating advanced AI algorithms that could learn from their environment in a way similar to how humans learn.

DeepMind quickly gained a reputation for its groundbreaking work in AI, and in 2015, Google purchased the company for a reported $500 million. Demis has since served as CEO of DeepMind, overseeing its continued development of cutting-edge AI algorithms for Google's various products and services.

Despite his many achievements, Demis remains humble and committed to advancing the field of AI.
