British woman missing on Telendos found dead

A 75-year-old British woman who went missing on the island of Telendos on April 30 was found dead. Her body was in an inaccessible area in Agia Triada on the island on Monday, May 15.

The British woman was on the island of Kalymnos together with her husband for vacations.

According to state broadcaster ERT, on the eve of May Day, the couple and a friend sailed to the nearby island of Telendos for hiking and climbing.

However, due to health problems, the woman sat in a restaurant in the harbour while her husband and his friend went climbing. When they returned, the woman was gone without leaving any trace behind.

Her husband alerted authorities, launched a search and rescue operation, and issued a Silver Alert.
