Stefanos Tsitsipas Makes Tennis History: Advances to 20th Masters 1000 Quarterfinal and Extends Winning Streak

Stefanos Tsitsipas achieved two significant milestones during his victorious match against Lorenzo Musetti in Rome on Tuesday night.

Firstly, this win secured his 20th Masters 1000 quarterfinal appearance, a remarkable feat in his career. As a two-time champion at this prestigious level, having triumphed in Monte Carlo in 2021 and 2022, Tsitsipas has also reached four additional finals, seven semifinals, and now seven quarterfinals.

Moreover, Tsitsipas extended his winning streak to 15 consecutive matches against opponents with one-handed topspin backhands. Since defeating Dominic Thiem in the round-robin stage of the 2020 ATP Finals, Tsitsipas has not lost to another player with a one-hander, demonstrating his dominance in such matchups.
