Stefanos Tsitsipas faced a tough loss in the opening set of his semi-final match against Daniil Medvedev at the Italian Open, following multiple rain delays.
The Greek tennis star was heard telling his father that he wanted his mother, who was coaching him in Russian, to leave the stadium. Following Tsitsipas' request, his mother Julia was seen leaving the player's box and taking a seat in the stands. Commentators reported that Tsitsipas had asked his mother not to talk in Russian during the game. Despite his mother's departure, Tsitsipas struggled in the match and lost the first set to Medvedev. However, he was able to break back and level the match at 3-3 in the second set, with his mother still watching from her new seat.
