Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche are two exceptional actors of international fame who reunited on the film sets 27 years after their last collaboration, against the backdrop of the vast blue of the Ionian Sea, to bring a leading epic of ancient Greek literature to the big screen.

This interest is clearly intensified since it refers to the multi-awarded actors Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche, who have joined their acting forces again in an ambitious project, the film adaptation of Homer's Odyssey, entitled "The Return".
The Return is directed by the distinguished Umberto Pasolini and is expected to be released in theatres in 2024.
It was 1996 when the two then-young actors mesmerised audiences and critics with their sensational performances in the now-classic film The English Patient, which was awarded nine Oscars.
Now, almost two and a half decades later, now experienced and having each erased their own brilliant artistic path, they work together again to embody on the screen one of the most epic couples, Odysseus and Penelope.
The filming of the film, which is an international co-production of Italy, Greece, the United Kingdom and France, began in the spring in Corfu and continued in the Peloponnese and then in Italy with the actors being delighted with the result.
The plot of the film begins to unfold from the moment Odysseus returns to Ithaca, after 20 years of difficult adventures. He arrives home exhausted, physically and mentally, but nothing is the same in his kingdom.
His much-loved wife, Penelope, is closely besieged by would-be suitors eyeing the king's position and seeing her son Telemachus, played by Charlie Plummer, as a major obstacle to their lofty goal. The only option for Odysseus is to regain his strength and confidence in order to save his family and his kingdom.
