Cypriot MMA Fighter 'The Ferocious' Grigoriou Signs with Dana White's Contender Series

Cypriot MMA fighter Charalampos "The Ferocious" Grigoriou has taken a significant step towards his ultimate goal of reaching the UFC by signing on to fight for Dana White's Contender Series.

The Contender Series offers promising fighters the opportunity to showcase their skills, with UFC president Dana White scouting for new talent to join the prestigious UFC roster.

Grigoriou shared the exciting news on his social media, expressing his gratitude and anticipation for the upcoming opportunity to represent Cyprus on such a prominent stage.

"Big news! I have officially signed with Dana White's Contender Series and will be stepping into the ring on August 15th in Las Vegas. It has been a long journey, and I am now one step away from realizing my dream. It is an incredible honour for me to represent my country in the world's premier MMA promotion as the only Cypriot in the UFC. Brace yourselves for another amazing knockout because nobody can take it away from me."

He further expressed his appreciation to Dana White and the UFC for providing him with this remarkable opportunity, concluding with a confident message to his fans: "Don't blink."

Although currently based in the United States, Grigoriou proudly fights out of Paphos. With a record of 7 wins, three losses, and 0 draws, he holds the title of Combat FC Champion, which he secured in February.

Before his Contender Series appearance on August 15th, Grigoriou is set to defend his Combat FC title against Kris Moutinho on June 16th.

In his Contender Series bout, scheduled for August 15th, Grigoriou will face off against American fighter Cameron Smotherman, aiming to impress and secure his place in the highly competitive UFC ranks.
