With the headline: "Through the eyes of Dimitris", the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet refers to the impressions of the former minister and EU Commissioner, Dimitris Avramopoulos, who attended the swearing-in ceremony of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.

As the publication notes, Dimitris Avramopoulos is an old acquaintance and friend of the Turkish president who had the opportunity to chat briefly with the new foreign minister, Hakan Fidan.

The newspaper presents the statements of the former European Commissioner to the Greek media, about his impressions of the ceremony and the "next day" in Turkey , especially regarding relations with Greece.

"A new wind is blowing with his new cabinet. I see signs that Erdoğan will take a different approach," he said, noting that he feels more optimistic about Greek-Turkish relations in the future.

The newspaper notes that Dimitris Avramopoulos has been friends with Erdoğan since he was mayor of Istanbul.

The publication also highlights the statements of acting Foreign Minister Vassilis Kaskarelis, who represented the Greek government at the swearing-in ceremony.

"Erdoğan is the natural leader of Turkey, with good and bad. I think he wants to work so that his name remains in everyone's memory, before he retires from the political scene," he said.
