'A 65-year-old inmate has received treatment in hospital following an assault at the Metropolitan Special Programs Centre, at Long Bay,' a spokesperson for NSW Corrective Services said.
'At about 12.15 pm on Tuesday, 6 June 2023, correctional officers initiated a medical response after the man was discovered with suspected head injuries. NSW Police were notified.
'Corrective Services NSW takes great care to determine appropriate security classifications and placements for inmates to maintain the safety and security of our prisons.'
