If you are looking for a beautiful and creative way to spend your weekend, we have a different suggestion for you: the cherry festival.
In a beautiful and picturesque village full of greenery, the traditional celebration of the favourite summer fruit will run for two days.
There will be exhibitors with various traditional products while various talks and activities will be held for young and old. This is the 42nd Cherry Festival, which will occur on June 17 and 18 in Metaxochori of the Municipality of Agia in Larissa.
Among other things, the cherry cooking with children by Gianna Balafoutis is worth mentioning on Sunday at 11:30. On the same day, at the end of the activities, at 21:00, a guided tour of the Girls' School, the historic building that dominates Metaxochori, is planned.
On Sunday morning at 9:00, an easy walking route will be held in collaboration with the Association of Agia Runners entitled "On the Paths of Metaxohori".
