TUI extends tourism season to Greece until mid-November due to high demand

Greece, Turkey and Mallorca in Spain will be the most popular destinations for this summer among customers of the TUI travel group. Especially for Greece, the company plans to extend the tourist season until November.

"This year's season is expected to be particularly strong, while in recent weeks, the number of travellers has exceeded that of 2019 for the first time," pointed out the head of TUI Germany, Stefan Baumert, in a statement.

As he said those interested made reservations much earlier to secure better prices, as the cost of vacations this year exceeds that before the pandemic.

"The interest in travelling is so great that in some destinations, we have had to request extra beds," he adds.

According to Mr Baumert, Greece, Mallorca, and Turkey will be particularly popular with travellers this summer.

"Due to increased demand, TUI will extend the season in Greece and make the destination available until mid-November," he pointed.

Baumert also mentions that travellers' preferences have changed after the pandemic: "Travellers do not compromise on quality, but they consider the final destination a lot. Anyone who used to travel to distant destinations now goes to southern Europe or northern Africa."

The TUI Germany head also also assures that there will be no repeat of last year's chaotic scenes at German airports this year, as the necessary preparations have been made for the additional burden.

Also, TUI's airline, TUIfly, has sufficient flight staff and a fixed flight schedule, and 12-13 planes on hand to cover any gaps.
