Dialogue between Mitsotakis and Sarmas

Ioannis Sarmas: I wish you to serve the general welfare of the Greek people exactly as you swore before, to serve it in the most effective way and to have the most beneficial results for our country.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Mr. President, thank you for your kind words, and I also thank you and your Cabinet for the excellent way in which you fulfilled your duties. You remained in this office for a few weeks, but you saw that life constantly holds surprises for us, and the governance of the country is a matter that never stops.

I want to thank you again from the bottom of my heart for the fact that we managed to pass through this transitional period between the two elections in an exemplary manner and - as you said - now that I am an elected Prime Minister and enjoying the trust of the Parliament, I can return to this office and continue my work.

And you also realized the weight of this office and the weight of the responsibility of this office, and I assure you that I will do my best, as I swore a little while ago in the Constitution, to serve the general welfare of the Greek people.

Ioannis Sarmas: Of course, Mr. Prime Minister. Good luck.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Thank you.
