Nick Kyrgios vows to take the Saudi Arabia cash as he tweets 10 dollar-sign emojis
Mail Sport reported on Saturday that the head of the men's tour, ATP Tour chair Andrea Gaudenzi, revealed he held talks with the kingdom's sovereign wealth fund.
But this of course drew the ire of tennis fans in the comments with sportwashing a main drawback for many to the Saudi Arabia investments into sport.
"This is sportwashing bro," wrote one. While another pointed out that while he may support this, they would prefer a certain surface Kyrgios doesn't. "I hear they love clay courts in Saudi."
Another pointed out that he has made lots of money already in his career so doesn't get the point. "You’ve made $12M+ playing tennis. Why do you want to sell your soul to the Saudis?!?"
