A 20-year-old man originally from Pakistan was killed after being chased by a police officer in Moschohori, Larissa.
At half past one in the afternoon on Saturday, police officers spotted a car that had been reported stolen. Instead of stopping for the police, the driver sped up and began a pursuit.
At Moschohori, according to Law & Order, the driver lost control and crashed into parked cars, and a foot pursuit of the person followed.
Under unclear circumstances, according to police sources, one of the officers took out his weapon and shot at the 20-year-old, wounding him fatally. The police officers involved in the chase gave their statements.
The victim had recently been released from prison after serving time for trafficking illegal immigrants.
