Pakistani man with tuberculosis escaped from Rio hospital

An alarm was raised last week in Patras when the police were informed of the disappearance of a patient with tuberculosis from the Rio hospital.

According to Tempo 24, the patient was a 25-year-old man of Pakistani origin who was taken to the hospital as he had been diagnosed with tuberculosis.

As it became known, he escaped the staff's attention at some point and ran away.

Police were immediately notified and began searches in the wider area to locate him and return him to the hospital, as the disease is contagious.
