The container was discovered on the shore of a beach in Green Head, approximately 250 kilometers north of Perth. Residents in the area became aware of the unusual sighting and shared their curiosity with others. One resident, Garth Griffiths, mentioned that a local couple had found the object floating on the water's edge and dragged it out with their four-wheel drive.
The container, made of lightweight carbon fibre material akin to lightweight resin, has been under observation and protection by authorities since 8:00 a.m. on Monday. However, it appears that locals had already gathered at the site the night before.
Space experts have weighed in on the possible origin of the mysterious object. Some believe it could be the fuel tank of a rocket known as the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), which was last launched on April 22, 2023.
To ensure the safety of both the object and beach visitors, the Western Australia police have taken charge of protecting the unknown item during the investigation.
