Nikos Oikonomopoulos on the fires in Rhodes - "The Virgin Mary is with you"

In the last few days, all the attention is around the fires burning Rhodes, and the attention of Nikos Oikonomopoulos has been no exception.

The island went through difficult times for the seventh night, with the fire brigade and volunteers fighting to contain the fiery flames.

Nikos Oikonomopoulos wanted to send his own message about the tragic moments experienced by the inhabitants of the Dodecanese island.

On his personal Instagram account, the well-known singer wrote:

“(Rhodes). I have this beautiful island in my heart! Good strength to all the security forces and volunteers who give their souls to the fire fronts that exist throughout Greece. The Virgin Mary with you."

Some 63 wildfires broke out in Greece in the last 24 hours, most of which were put out during their initial stages, said the Fire Brigade on Monday night.

Concerning the country's major ongoing fires - at the islands of Rhodes, Corfu and Evia, and also near the village of Dervenaki at Achia prefecture, northern Peloponnese - the Fire Brigade said that multiple rekindlings have occured in all these locations.
