There were violent incidents on Tuesday night at the Pre-Removal Detention Center for Foreigners in Amygdaleza, following the death of an inmate.
According to the police, just before 22:00 an Indian inmate fainted. An Emergency Response Service (EKAV) ambulance arrived at the scene and found that the man had died of pathological causes.
According to the Hellenic Police, a group of inmates then proceeded to set fire to mattresses and a container, forcing the police and fire brigade to intervene in order to put out the fire, after which the incident ended.
