A livestock farmer from Evia, who vanished on Sunday while tending to his animals, has been discovered deceased, according to reports from private broadcaster MEGA.
The 41-year-old farmer, hailing from Platanistos, was found dead in a hut, which seems to have acted as a containment for the raging wildfire.
Police sources have confirmed that the body was uncovered by the farmer's relatives, who promptly alerted the authorities and suspect it belongs to him. DNA testing will be carried out to verify the identity of the remains. Firefighters have been incessantly battling wildfires in the southern parts of Evia for several days now.
