The epicentre of the tremor was located 30 km south southeast of Zakros in Sitia.
An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter Scale occurred approximately 50 minutes after midnight on Tuesday off Crete.
According to the Geodynamic Institute, the tremor’s epicentre was located 30 km southeast of Zakros in Sitia, and the focal depth was estimated at 8.6 km.
The earthquake was felt in the wider area, but no damage was reported.
