The repaving of central Syngrou and Kifissos avenues in Athens at night will be completed before August 10, Attica Region said on Thursday.
Syngrou, linking central Athens with the coast, and Kifissos, the national highway leading to and from Athens, are being repaved between 21:00 and 06:00 in both directions. The section of Kifissos being repaved starts from the Faliron Delta by the coast.
Works are carried out during August when traffic is reduced due to Athenians leaving town.
"We are the first region in Greece, and the first administration as well, that highlighted the need for viable traffic and operational roads that are accessible and mostly safe for users of the road network," Attica Region Governor George Patoulis said.
