Zelensky thanks Greece for supporting security guarantees for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed on X how he was "grateful" to Greece for supporting security guarantees for Ukraine.

"Grateful to Greece for joining the G7 Declaration of Support, the 14th country to support security guarantees for Ukraine. I thank Prime Minister [Kyiakos Mitsotakis] for his personal commitment to the Ukrainian-Greek partnership. We keep working together on Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic path," he posted on X.

The Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Koulebas. G. Gerapetritis emphasised that Greece encourages all international initiatives to restore Ukraine's sovereignty and prevent humanitarian crises.

Greek Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis on Friday spoke on the phone with his counterpart of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, tweeted the Greek ministry.

Their "conversation was held in a very good spirit," it was noted, while the ministers "touched upon the historical Greece-Ukraine ties and the centuries-old presence of Greek Diaspora in Odesa and Mariupol."

Gerapetritis "emphasised that Greece encourages all international initiatives aimed at restoring Ukraine's sovereignty and preventing humanitarian crises," while "Kuleba thanked Greece for subscribing to the G7 Joint declaration of support for Ukraine."

The two ministers "reaffirmed their shared will to expand bilateral cooperation and agreed to exchange visits, namely of Ukrainian FM Kuleba to Athens, and Greek FM Gerapetritis to Kyiv and to Odessa together with FM Kuleba."
