Maria Sakkari Battles to Victory Over Sorana Cirstea in Cincinnati Masters Clash

World number 8 Maria Sakkari needed 2h20 to beat Romanian Sorana Cirstea 2/6, 6/3, 7/5. It was the Greek’s first victory in three games against Cirstea on the circuit.

Sakkari faces Czech Karolina Muchova, 17th in the ranking and Roland Garros, finalist, in the round of 16. Beatriz Haddad Maia’s executioner in the opening round, Muchova, beat Croatian Petra Martic, 36th, by 6/3, 3/6 and 6/3. The Czech leads the historic against Sakkari by 3 to 1, entitled to a victory this year at Roland Garros.
