64kg of cocaine found in a container at the port of Piraeus

On Monday, August 14, 2023, 64 kilograms of cocaine were detected and seized from a container in the port of Piraeus by the Narcotics Prosecution sub-directorate of the Athens Security Directorate on Monday, along with customs authorities and the Narcotics Prosecution Department.

As part of the investigations and following the utilisation of information from the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), a container was located, originating from Ecuador, in which 58 improvised packages containing 64 kilograms of cocaine were found and seized, Proto Thema reported.

The expected benefit from the importation and sale of the seized quantity of cocaine exceeds the amount of 2,000,000 euros. At the same time, the investigations for the identification and arrest of the perpetrators continue.
