Volodymyr Zelensky is making his first official visit to Greece - and the first since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as it has been pending since Spring 2021 - following the invitation addressed to him by Mitsotakis.

A strong message of support for Ukraine

At the same time, in Athens, Zelensky will meet for the first time at the informal dinner organised by the Prime Minister with the region's leaders - in the presence of the EU leadership. - a summit dinner that transmits through Greece a strong message of support for Ukraine, the Euro-Atlantic perspective of the entire region, and an even stronger message that this road for the entire region passes through Athens.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to repeat that Greece, which stood on the right side of history from the first moment by supporting Ukraine without asterisks, will continue to support Ukraine defensively and humanitarian and its Euro-Atlantic perspective.

It is recalled that following NATO's decisions - both at the Madrid Summit and in Vilnius - Greece joined the Declaration of the G7 leaders on support for Ukraine - in which the findings of the Alliance are repeated, and the continuation of support for Ukraine are reaffirmed - defence and economical for its reconstruction - both bilaterally and through the EU and NATO.
