The fire brigade fought the fires in Evros and Rodopi for one more night.
In Evros, the firefighting forces are concentrating their efforts on the front located northwest of the Kotronia area of Evros towards Dadia. There, as reported by ERT, the press representative of the Fire Brigade, Giannis Artophios, set up a significant operation with the forces of the Fire Brigade creating a line of defence to stop the from entering the small core of Dadia.
He added that, until Monday morning, the operating forces would establish fire zones where possible. However, the potential change of the wind to the south is causing concern, which, if it happens, as Mr Patophios said, will send the fire towards Dadia.
Regarding the resurgence in the broader area of Lefkimmi and the dimensions creating a front, Mr. Artophios said, "In Lefkimmi and Provatonas, the fire now has a more recessionary form."
In Rodopi, the front that preoccupies the Fire Brigade, as Mr. Artophios mentioned, is between the area of Kassitera and Kirki.
Further reinforcement of the fire brigades operating in Evros and Rodopi is expected today, Monday.
As pointed out by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, who was in Evros, as part of the effort to control the fire and in the coming days, there will be further reinforcement with air and ground forces even though he said that he is already attempting to Evros a considerable part of the forces of the Fire Brigade, ground and air.

It is headed by the Minister of Territories, Makis Voridis, accompanied by the Minister of Citizen Protection, Yiannis Oikonomou, the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis and the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Theodoris Livanios.
The ministerial level is also accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Triandopoulos, together with the Deputy Minister of Macedonia-Thrace, Stathis Konstantinidis and the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Stavros Keletsi.

The submission of applications for the financial support of the residents of the Alexandroupoli municipality affected by the fires begins today, Monday.

The Evros Regional Unit issued clarifications on the procedure for the declaration - registration and grant of businesses and agricultural holdings affected by the fires. According to this announcement, the following apply:
The Directorate of State Aid of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection subsidises the businesses and farms affected by the fires.
The Region is competent to set up committees to record damages caused to businesses, industrial and craft units, shops and agricultural holdings, i.e. agricultural holdings and livestock units (except damage to plant and animal capital and plant production), which exercise legal, economic activity, regardless of their form, including sole proprietorships, freelancers, and non-profit entities.
After restricting the area affected by the fire, the Region sends the necessary business supporting documents to the mentioned ministry, which proceeds to check them and pays the beneficiaries the grant.

The grant covers material damage caused by the fire to assets such as equipment, raw materials, goods, public and private trucks, commercial vehicles, means of production, and fixed capital and stored products, which were recorded as damaged.
