Cyprus: Five Israelis arrested for alleged gang rape of British tourist in Ayia Napa

Santorini rape

A British tourist in Cyprus turned her holidays into an absolute nightmare after being allegedly raped in Ayia Napa.

According to the Daily Mail, a British woman was allegedly gang-raped by five Israelis this weekend.

The 20-year-old victim stated on Sunday to the Cypriot authorities that she was attacked by five men at her hotel in Famagusta where she was staying.

Police have arrested five Israelis - three aged 19 and two aged 20 - following a description of the alleged victim.

The five Israeli suspects are expected to appear in Famagusta court today.

The case comes after another British woman last year won her appeal to overturn a conviction for 'lying' about being gang-raped by 12 Israeli tourists when she was an 18-year-old on holiday in Cyprus.
