Hotel prices in popular European travel destinations, such as Athens, are on the rise in September

Hotel prices rose in September in the most famous European cities for travel compared to August and the same month in 2022, according to data from Trivago.

Travel presents today the hotel prices in the most popular urban destinations worldwide as recorded by the international platform. In detail, in the hotels of Athens, the average online price per night in a double room for September reaches €193, from €170 in August and €153 in September 2022.

Despite the increased hotel accommodation, Athens remains in Europe's most economically attractive and popular holiday cities.

According to Trivago data in other European cities, the online prices are as follows:

In Amsterdam, the average price is €283 in September against €265 last August; in Barcelona, €257  against €231; in Berlin, €230 against €158 ​; in Brussels, €213 against €167; in Dublin, €284 against €251, in Istanbul €123 vs €127, Lisbon €238 vs €225, London €289 vs €255, Madrid €209 vs €136, Paris €336 vs €212, Rome €303 vs €212, Vienna €198 against €168, in Warsaw €119 at the same levels as the previous month and Zurich €328 against €293.

The online prices for hotels in popular cities outside of Europe in September are as follows:

In Bangkok, the average price is €60 at the same levels as in August; in Buenos Aires, €128 against €125; in Cairo, €111 against €115; in Chicago, €283 against €266; in Dubai, €147 against €131, in Hong Kong €161 vs €153, Johannesburg €72 vs €73, Las Vegas €229 vs €187, Melbourne €151 vs €150, Miami €184 vs €182, New York €468 vs €330, Rio de Janeiro €93 against €89, in San Francisco €262 against €246, in Seoul €121 against €119, in Shanghai €118 at the same levels as last month, in Singapore €222 against €206, in Sydney €169 against €170, in Tokyo €140 against €145 and in Toronto €382 against €340.
