A helicopter crashed a short while ago in northern Evia.
The civilian helicopter was en route from Mantoudi to Volos when it suddenly lost contact with the Air Force, Proto Thema reported. The helicopter then crashed on Achladi beach.
The moment of the fall:
According to an eyewitness, while in the air, the helicopter began to tilt, while a few minutes later a bang was heard.
The regional governor of Central Greece, Fanis Spanos, the deputy regional governor of Evia, Giorgos Kelaidis and the mayor of Mantoudi are rushing to the scene.
"The helicopter fell on the beach of Achladi in front of my house," the mayor of Mantoudi told ERT.
Four floating vessels of the Coast Guard and two submarines are rushing to the spot, while a helicopter has also taken off.
An ambulance cannot reach the area due to the damaged road network.
