SYRIZA leader Kasselakis has to be instructed on how to honour the national anthem - Watch the video

An incredible video from the recent visit of the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, to Cyprus is making the rounds on the Internet.

At this, and having just laid a wreath, the new leader of the official opposition party seems not to realise that the national anthem has begun to be booed and not to stand at attention.

When he finally does, Kasselakis sits with his arms crossed, visibly embarrassed.

Vangelis Kalpadakis - former diplomatic advisor to Alexis Tsipras - is quick to get him out of the "uncomfortable" position - who runs alongside the SYRIZA president, trying not to be noticed, to show him how to be careful - which, in the end, he manages to do.

The cameras, however, "caught" the snapshot, which went viral on the Internet.

Kasselakis will visit the cities of Corinth and Patras in the Peloponnese and the island of Rhodes on Friday, ahead of Sunday's local government elections.

At 10:00 am in Corinth, he will visit the kiosk of the party's candidates in the city (running under the name 'Peloponnisos First'), before meeting with the candidate for regional governor  Manolis Makaris and candidates for other positions on the ballot. He will also walk through the city centre with them.

At 12:00 noon in Patras, he will visit the campaign offices of the 'Together We Change - Western Greece' candidates, where he will meet with  regional governor candidate Kostas Karpetas and candidates for other positions on the ballot.

Finally, at 20:00 Kasselakis will go to Rhodes, where he will meet with the party's candidate for governor of the South Aegean Chrissa Karagianni.
