Atlanta cinema lovers and anyone with an interest in contemporary Greek culture will have the opportunity to enjoy five cinematic gems representing the best new feature films from Greece and Cyprus at the Eighth Annual Atlanta Greek Film Expo taking place October 20-22 at the iconic Tara Theatre, 2345 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE in Atlanta.

“The Greek industry has shown Its resilience, weathering the storm of the 2008 global economic crisis as soli as the mid-2010s financial meltdown that nearly pushed it from the Eurozone. Cameras continued to roll throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and however challenging, the present landscape amid runaway inflation across Europe, Greek filmmakers can justifiably feel their best days are ahead,” said Maria Mandekos Sharp, President of Lykion ton Ellinidon, the nonprofit Hellenic cultural organization organizing the film festival.
