The 62-year-old Cypriot, who works as an insurance consultant in the mornings, has been dancing with glasses on his head since 1995.

The previous Guinness Record belonged to the Cypriot Dino Kanti, who had danced with 270 glass glasses on his head.

To achieve the Guinness Record, Valaoritis used nine trays of glasses with a total weight of 30 kg.

The 62-year-old Cypriot didn't just hold the discs on his head for 10 seconds as required for the Guinness Record to be recognised but continued to dance for several more seconds.

As he revealed, his training involves hanging a 50kg sand barrel from a tree and balancing it on his head for 5 minutes daily.

He confessed that the accidents have not taken away from his efforts, saying, "10% is my fault, 10% my assistant's fault and 80% from spectators who invite them to put another glass on the trays."
