Archbishop Makarios of Australia met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece

On Tuesday, 24 October 2023, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr. Georgios Kotsiras, responsible for the issues of Greeks Abroad.

During the meeting, which was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, issues related to the needs of the Greeks of Australia were discussed, as well as the possibilities of strengthening the cooperation between the Greek State and the Holy Archdiocese of Australia in the direction of further strengthening the ties of the metropolitan centre with the Greeks of the fifth continent.

The Deputy Minister of Greeks Abroad congratulated His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia for the multidimensional work carried out by the Orthodox Church in Australia in preserving the national and cultural identity of the members of the Greek Omogenia, while His Eminence wished Mr Kotsiras good health and strength, to carry out his responsible duties effectively.
