ATHENS - Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis reiterated on Monday the immediate need to establish a humanitarian corridor to facilitate aid delivery to Gaza.

"I believe it's time to consider implementing humanitarian ceasefires to establish sustainable humanitarian corridors for delivering essential aid to those in need," Gerapetritis stated during a press conference upon his arrival at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels.

"Human life and dignity know no colour or nationality. It's time to do what is morally right," the Greek diplomat added, as per a statement from the Greek foreign ministry.

Gerapetritis also disclosed that a Greek-descent family of seven was evacuated from Gaza to Egypt on Sunday.

Official Israeli figures report an almost 1,200 Israeli death toll.
